I’ve been a purchaser of high-end video cameras since 1990.  Several times during these years I’ve been uncomfortably perched on the bleeding edge of newness.  Yes, I have fallen into the hype, buzz, perceived advantage of the latest and greatest several times.  I’ve waited at least six months after actual camera deliveries begin to make my purchase decision (usually until at least firmware 1.1) for my past several cameras.

Today I’m spending a Saturday in Burbank allowing a camera maker to try to convince me that their latest and greatest idea will change my production life.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.  I need more time to ponder!
