Each year for Christmas At Derbyshire I craft a centerpiece for the baptistery “window” area. My opinion is that in a hour + music presentation the audience needs a dynamic visual element to focus on.

In past years that object has been various Christmas trees, huge advent wreath, etc. This year I proposed a three-dimensional “glass” Bethlehem Star.

We started early, in September!, spending a day making a wood prototype of one dimension of the star (visible in the foreground).

It was a month and a half later (today) when I was able to get back to work on this project.

Here is most of the front dimension together after a full day of my welding.
